The latest Ruckus Podcast showcases the talents and stylings of Doug Cooney. Dublin based DJ and Producer Cooney has cut his teeth and honed his ability throughout a wide variety of Dublin club nights over the last four years, playing regularly for nights such as Hospital, Space Camp, Family and also The Winter Olympics. However, he has also already managed to spread his wings on the international circuit, taking in a trip to France in 2007 to showcase his talents for the VALERIE CrEw (Pimp it tour) in Nantes. In addition, He has also played in Berlin as part of Synth Eastwood last February. This impressive gigging CV is further bolstered by a perfectionist approach to his craft, which results in almost seamless mixing and technical ability, and an overall Djing talent that is held in the highest regard by his peers. His choice of genres and tune selection complement each other extremely well, playing a smooth blend of beats from Italo Disco to Melodic Techno. To give you an idea

As an acknowledged relative newcomer to Dublin’s DJing Circuit, Carden Kent managed to get off to quite an impressive start on the gigging circuit, bagging a support slot with one of his biggest influences, Hamburg’s D.I.M. Since then and over the last year, he’s managed to carve out his own individual route, being the co-founder and resident behind the popular Ruckus Nights at the Underground in Kennedy’s. In addition, recognition also came in the form of blowing the roof off some epic and distinctly memorable “sessions”, where a no holds barred approach to distinctly bangin’ tunes were without doubt, the order of the party. A big and animated presence behind the decks, and with the appropriate tunes to match, it didn’t take the respective crowds much to get into the spirit of things. His 1AM Mix (still available on the Ruckus blog) also helped achieve further recognition through excited word of mouth, being passed around like a hot potato and proving to be a good indicator of just how full on the energetic live sets can be. Now beginning to concentrate more on the Production side of things, and with the Ruckus nights bound to go from strength to strength(with some exciting and big names due to appear it shall be interesting to keep an eye on his progress over the forthcoming year. To keep up to date with proceedings, here’s our latest installment, and his latest mix, veering towards the eclectic... Expect some bangers, edits, a bit of French House and the odd guilty pleasure…
